RE Day 5
We started the day miming everyday uses of water in our own lives before looking at images of water in everyday lives for communities around the world, sorting them into essential and non-essential usages. This led us to learn more about the charity Water Aid and how they work to support communities in poorer areas of the world where accessibility to clean water and toilet hygiene may be limited. We went on to learn about The River Ganges and its significance to Hindu believers around the world. We used atlases and digital mapping to learn more about the river's physical features. We explored the big question "Would visiting the Ganges be as special for a non-Hindu as a Hindu and why?" We finished our day by using water to "cleanse" our school grounds. As it has been raining heavily on and off for the last couple of weeks, we decided to swap plant watering for litter picking. We also enjoyed using hot, soapy water and working as a team to clean all the railings. This proved to be great fun! |
