A school is about so much more than classrooms, results and facilities. It is about finding the place where your child will be known, valued and encouraged to become the very best version of themselves.

That is what makes North Leigh CE Primary School special.

At North Leigh, we believe childhood matters. We want our children to look back on their primary school years and remember a place filled with friendship, curiosity, laughter, discovery and opportunity. A place where they felt safe enough to have a go, confident enough to ask questions and supported enough to achieve things they once thought were impossible.

Big enough to inspire. Small enough to know every child.

One of the greatest strengths of North Leigh is our sense of community.

Children are not simply names on a register. They are known.

We know the child who loves performing, the child who can lose themselves in a book, the budding scientist, the talented sportsperson, the child who needs a little encouragement to find their voice and the child who hasn't yet discovered the thing that makes them shine.

Our job is to help them discover it.

We want every child who walks through our doors to hear the message:

You belong here. You matter here. We believe in you.

A school where children have a voice

We want North Leigh children to be confident communicators and thoughtful listeners. Children are encouraged to ask questions, share ideas, debate, explain their thinking and learn from one another.

Their opinions matter too. We want pupils to play an active part in shaping their school and to understand that, however young they are, their voice can make a difference.

Because education is not simply about preparing children to pass tests. It is about preparing them to take their place in the world.

Rooted in Christian values, open to everyone

As a Church of England school, our Christian character helps to shape the way we treat one another.

Kindness, compassion, respect, forgiveness, courage and hope are not simply words displayed around our school. We want them to be evident in the everyday moments: a child helping a friend, an adult offering encouragement, children celebrating somebody else's success, or a class considering how they can make their community a little better.

Children learn that achievement matters, but who we become matters too.

Families of all faiths and none are warmly welcomed into our school community.

High expectations with a human touch

We are ambitious for our children.

We believe every child deserves excellent teaching, a rich curriculum and adults who refuse to put limits on what they might achieve.

But high expectations at North Leigh do not mean that every child has to be the same.

Children develop at different rates. They have different strengths. They face different challenges. Great schools recognise those differences while continuing to believe in what every child can become.

We want children to leave North Leigh knowledgeable, articulate, resilient, curious and ready for their next adventure.

More than lessons

Some of the most powerful learning happens in the moments children talk about when they get home.

The special visitor.

The school performance.

The sporting challenge.

The fascinating question that started a class discussion.

The responsibility they were trusted with.

The moment they finally mastered something difficult.

The friend who helped them.

The teacher who believed they could do it.

These experiences build confidence and character alongside knowledge.

We want school to be somewhere children are excited to come to each morning because they never quite know what they might discover next.

Growing up together

There is something very special about being part of a primary school community.

Children begin their journey needing adults to help them navigate a new and exciting world. Year by year, we watch them grow in independence, confidence and character.

Eventually, those same children become the older pupils that younger children look up to.

They become role models.

They become leaders.

And finally, they leave us ready for the next stage of their lives.

That journey matters enormously to us.

You feel the warmth of the welcome.

And you begin to imagine your child here.

I hope you enjoy your visit to our website and look forward to welcoming you to our school.
