As a Church of England school, North Leigh CE Primary School enjoys a close and valued partnership with St Mary's Church, North Leigh, which is at the heart of our village community. The church plays an important role in the spiritual life of the school and supports our Christian vision and values.

The school and church come together throughout the year to celebrate key Christian festivals. Pupils, staff and families gather at St Mary's for special services including Christmas celebrations, when we reflect on the birth of Jesus, and Easter services, which help children understand the events of Holy Week and the significance of the resurrection. These occasions provide opportunities for worship, reflection and celebration as a whole school community.

St Mary's Church also enriches learning across the curriculum. Children visit the church regularly as part of their Religious Education studies, exploring Christian beliefs, worship and traditions in a real-life setting. The church building and surrounding area also provide valuable opportunities for Geography learning, helping pupils develop an understanding of their local environment, heritage and community.

The school benefits greatly from the support of The Reverend Canon Margaret Dixon, Vicar of St Mary's and a member of the governing body. Canon Margaret leads regular collective worship in school and works closely with staff to nurture pupils' spiritual development and strengthen the links between school, church and the wider community.

Through this partnership, we aim to help every child develop a sense of belonging, curiosity and respect, while growing in faith, understanding and service to others.
