William Morris Ash Class looked at textile designs by local designer William Morris who used natural images such as flowers, leaves and birds as a source of inspiration for his designs. He also often made his designs symmetrical. We created collages of our favourite designs which we used to create our own design. Once we had sketched this, we traced it and flipped it to create a symmetrical design. The next stage was to carve our designs into foam tiles then print them onto coloured paper. We were delighted with the finished results.
