Owl (Year 6) - Miss Cuthbertson and Mrs Mason

Miss Cuthbertson

I am delighted to be part of the North Leigh teaching team. I have been teaching for 20 years in a wide variety of settings, from inner-city Birmingham to local village schools and have had the privilege of teaching children across both KS1 and KS2.

Over the years, I have developed a real passion for creating positive, nurturing classrooms where children feel confident, supported and excited about learning. I am passionate about helping every child reach their potential. I love those special ‘light bulb’ moments when a child suddenly understands something — they are one of the things that make teaching such a rewarding career!

Outside of school, I enjoy keeping fit by running and love spending time with my family. My two boys certainly keep me on my toes and make life busy, fun and full of adventure!

Mrs Mason

I feel very lucky to have spent over 30 years teaching children from Reception to Year 6, and I am so excited to be part of Owl Class this year. One of the things I love most about teaching is getting to know each child and their family, helping them grow in confidence and develop the skills they need for the next stage of life. My greatest passion is teaching PSHE and supporting children’s mental and emotional well-being.

Outside of school, I love spending time with my grown-up children, trying not to be too competitive over a game of Bananagrams, and getting cosy with a good book. I also enjoy trying my hand at the latest Great British Bake Off technical challenge – with mixed results!
