Fundraising for school: North Leigh C of E Primary School 2016 - 2017
Dear Parents and Carers
We are very lucky to have a strong school community here at North Leigh and, as a result, a well-represented, hard-working and enthusiastic PTA. Our aims are to enrich the school environment and continue to involve the wider school community.
All of our events are designed to be enjoyed. Some involve fund raising whilst others are more focused on the children and wider community having fun. We aim to represent the views of the parents and teachers across the school and to include everyone, so that we all feel that we are contributing to the wider school life and improving the learning environment for our children.
Our activities include the ever popular Christmas and Summer fairs, end of term cakes sales, children's Christmas shopping, children's parties, a stall (and occasionally a float) at Witney Carnival, a treasure hunt around the village at Easter, a Quiz night, providing refreshments for the school events, and to round off the school year, a family BBQ on the school field. We continue to raise funds from our '100 club' lottery, sales through the Just Giving website and Bag2School initiatives.
We put our hard earned cash to good use. We have developed the sensory and vegetable gardens with the children, maintained the pond, developed the woodland, adding an outdoor classroom, and we will continue to support the use of the woodland and other outdoor spaces the school has to offer. We have purchased books, iPads, laptops, playground equipment, paid for workshops to enhance children's learning, provided funds for each classroom for additional equipment, paid for every child to attend the Theatre and we will continue to support the learning environment for the children and teachers at North Leigh School.
We are always keen to hear your views so please do let us have any comments or suggestions and if you would like to get involved then we would love to hear from you.
Sarah Taylor and Jo Gardner - PTA Chair
I have been part of the the PTA in some capacity for the past six years. My eldest son, Noah, spent a happy seven years at North Leigh School and has just started at Wood Green School, my youngest, Toby, is now in Willow Class. Having seen the school grow over the past few years it is becoming increasingly important that the PTA explores as many avenues of finance as it can. Developing our relationship with a local estate agent has been incredibly valuable to our fundraising efforts and the support we receive from Eynsham Hall, as part of their local charitable initiative, is also hugely welcome. I hope that we can continue to develop these existing relationships and explore new opportunities alongside our traditional fundraising events that we hold throughout the year and spend the money that we raise on supporting and enhancing our children's education at North Leigh.

I also have a 2 year old daughter called Seren who can't wait to start school too! I am a VP of a small training company in Oxford, which trains individuals and companies in the Energy sector, I have always been involved in arranging training and events so hopefully can add something to the PTA and the events they run.
Hi! My name is Lyndsey Wallis - New mum at North Leigh and new to the PTA. My eldest son, Rhys has just joined Holly Class and is really enjoying all the activities and making new friends. I also have a 1.5yr old son called Ryan who dotes on his big brother! My background is PA work - which I now do freelance - and I have been heavily involved in event planning for years as part of this role. I previously worked for Audley Travel, based near Crawley and have lived in Witney for almost 10 years now. I look forward to working with the team to fundraise for the school and the children.
I am Clare and I am 'Mummy' to Sammy and Delilah. Sammy has had a fantastic start to school life in Holly class and Delilah is making friends at the preschool, and is eager to start school next year.
We have lived in Witney for 6 years now and love it. Prior to that, we lived in Oxford and I studied at Oxford Brookes University where I achieved a degree in Interior Architecture.
I have worked in various design disciplines and I am currently running an Urban Design practice with my husband.
There's never a dull moment but I am very lucky to be able to work flexibly around the children.
My son Owen is in Hazel Class and my youngest will start here next year. We viewed the house we live in now on the day of the North Leigh PTA Summer Fayre in 2013. It convinced me North Leigh was the right village for us, so I was keen to be involved to keep the community atmosphere going and joined the PTA.
Jennie Le Feuvre
Hi, I'm Jennie - We moved to Witney in 2015 following almost 5 years in Germany with my husband's job. We have children in years 5 (Oliver) and 3 (Zoe) with a little one in preschool (George). Prior to living abroad we lived in Oxford where I worked as a midwife and nurse. We are settling well into Witney, finding new places to walk our dog and enjoying getting involved in school life and the community.
