Our Teachers
 Mrs Day
I have been lucky enough to have been teaching here at North Leigh for nearly 20 years, having previously taught in Oxford. Over the years it has been such a honour to meet so many lovely children and families.
I am literacy co-ordinator and have recently completed a Post Graduate Certificate in 'Working with Children with Literacy Difficulties' at Brookes University. This has really helped to develop my understanding of the literacy difficulties some children face, as well as some of the ways we can help them to learn.
In my spare time, I love to visit the theatre, seeing anything from Shakespeare to Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. I also love to read and go on long walks, especially if there is a pub lunch or cream tea at the end of it! More recently I have taken up running which I really hope to keep up this year!
 Miss Currie
Hello, my name is Miss Currie, and I’m really excited to be joining the Hedgehog Class this year. I am currently studying for a degree with the Open University, and I am looking forward to putting my learning into practice in the classroom. I will be teaching spelling, maths, music, and French, and I can’t wait to share my enthusiasm for these subjects with the children.
As well as class-based learning, I am especially looking forward to teaching PE and Forest School across the school. I believe these activities are fantastic opportunities for children to build confidence, develop teamwork, and enjoy learning in different environments. I will also be running extra-curricular clubs, which I hope will give children the chance to discover new interests and skills outside of lessons.
Outside of school, I enjoy travelling, hiking, and reading, as well as keeping active at the gym. I am passionate about bringing these interests into my teaching, helping to inspire curiosity, resilience, and a love of learning. I’m very excited for the year ahead and to be part of the Hedgehog Class journey.
