Our Teachers |
Mrs Day
I started teaching here in 2001, having previously taught in Oxford. I have a passion for teaching children in Key Stage 1 as it gives me a real opportunity to see them develop as life-long learners.
I am literacy co-ordinator and have enjoyed introducing "Talk for Writing" and Read, Write Inc (phonics programme) through the school.
I am also an active member of the PTA which enables me to support the school and get to know and work with parents in a more informal setting.
When I have spare time I like to read, walk, relax with friends and visit the theatre.
Ms Seccull
I've now been at North Leigh for over three years as Headteacher, but still like getting into class to teach when I can - it's definitely where the magic of our school happens most often.
Before I became a Head Teacher I spent 10 years in primary classrooms, mainly working in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 and have always loved to watch how much KS1 children learn and develop in such a short space of time.
I like teaching almost anything - but especially like outdoor learning, English and art and my favourite topics are those involving history, space and nature - but so long as I can make learning practical I'm happy. Oh and I love music and singing too (but I'm not very good at it!).
